Designed by California-based WET, who created the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest musical dancing fountain and it is most popular free tourist attaction in Dubai. It is located in the Burj Khalifa artificial lake in the heart of downtown Dubai, between the DubaiMall Souk Al Bahar and Burj Khalifa.
Though It is directed by operators of Bellagio, it is the same computer software that carries water, lights and music coordination. The Dubai Fountain measuring 275 meters (25% more than the Fountains of Bellagio) and has 6,600 lights and 50 colour projectors to illuminate the water. The fountain shoots jets of water 150 meters high, comparable to that of a 50-story building. The show can be seen more than 20 kilometers away.
The fountain is animated with performances set to light and music.It performs daily accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music with different water movements.

There are plenty of great vantage points to see the world class Performances, including from some of the restaurants at Souk Al Bahar, the bridge linking Souk Al Bahar with Dubai Mall and the Dubai Mall waterfront terrace.The most popular spot is the Waterfront Promenade outside the Dubai Mall. For even closer views, visitor can book a cruise aboard a wooden Abra (a traditional boat) that sets sail between 5.45pm and 11.15pm.
